‘Putul Nacher Itikotha’ is releasing in three days and there are no promotions for the movie at all. The movie has an ambitious cast and it is the adaptation of one of the finest novels in Bengali literature. It is a shame that there are even no posts on social media from the makers regarding the release.
‘Putul Nacher Itikotha’ was announced three years back and it stayed stagnant in the production process for a long time. The movie stars Abir Chatterjee, Jaya Ahsan, Parambrata Chattopadhyay and other actors in important roles. Fans were expecting some news but there have been no updates from the end of and cast and crew members. Now it is showing on the PVR Inox app that the movie will be released in three days, on the 13th of September and a poster has been revealed too. The poster features Abir Chatterjee riding a bicycle wearing a dhoti and a blazer. He will probably be playing the role of Shashi, a village doctor who goes through many emotional turmoil throughout the course of the novel.
Adapting a much loved literary classic into a film laden with stars from Bengal and Bangladesh and not promoting a pice on the promotions is a bad strategy and it will not work out well. Word of mouth will work for the movie only when the people get to know that the movie is releasing in halls. Having zero posts on social media does not make any sense and the producers should make some efforts on the marketing; it is never too late.
