PVR INOX has been villainizing itself for years now, as the national theater chain has haunted the audience in various ways. From astronomical food and beverage pricing to poor experiences, the list goes on.
In a recent series of events, PVR imposed new rules and regulations on Passport users, effectively neutralizing the benefits by blacklisting certain days where the Passport cannot be used. Now, PVR INOX has crumbled just before Independence Day, one of the biggest release dates in the Indian market.
The apps for both PVR and INOX stopped working, causing major headaches for the audience. And the humiliation wasn’t just limited to the app—the website crashed as well.
How did this happen? No one knows, as PVR INOX hasn’t issued any sort of statement. But events like these are shameful and will definitely impact the pre-sales of a lot of movies. Imagine how big the numbers for Stree 2 would have been if PVR and INOX’s apps had not crashed.
And do you know what caused the biggest problem? It wasn’t just the difficulty in booking tickets—some users had already booked their tickets online. When they arrived at the theaters, the app stopped working, and there was no way to retrieve the QR code to scan the tickets. Even repeated logouts and re-installations didn’t help.
These issues started on the night of the 13th but peaked on the 14th, just before Independence Day, when audiences faced resistance while trying to book tickets. As of now, on the morning of the 15th, the app is up and running again, but it’s too little, too late.
The way PVR INOX is treating its audience is practically absurd and could easily cause users to abandon the online experience altogether. Besides charging extra for the online experience, if they can’t manage an app properly, they are ‘this’ close to losing all credibility.
#PVRINOX such worst experience in buying PVR Inox passport and unable to redeem the same. Please suggesting people not go with it. It’s never working app and scheme 🙏🏼
