Qubool Hai 2.0: How The Web Series Will Break Away From The Original

By Binged Bureau - Feb 11, 2021 @ 08:02 am

Asad and Zoya that once gave new meaning to daily soaps when their show “Qubool Hai” came out are coming back again with their latest show, “Qubool Hai 2.0“. The difference is that, this time it will be a web-series. With OTT gaining immense popularity, it seemed like the best way to release the much adored love story. The show will be streaming on Zee5 from the 12th of March, 2021. 8 years ago, when Qubool Hai entered the TV world, it came to be known as the show that broke stereotypes and this is their motto once again as they go ahead with the web-series.

There will be some stark differences in the show even if the story will have Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti return as the lead actors. One of the biggest differences that fans will be able to notice instantly is the story. When Qubool Hai was airing as a daily soap, it did focus the story on the Muslim community, it deviated its theme to Asad and Zoya’s love and family life more. This won’t be the case with the web-series, as along with the love story between the leads it will also follow an action based plotline, which somehow involves the RAW. If RAW is involved, one can imagine the plot will be filled with thrill too along with it being a love story.

The cast of the series is different from that of daily soap. As a daily soap, it had a bunch of characters and separate story lines too. This won’t be the case with the series. Apart from Karan and Surbhi Jyoti, other notable characters will be played by Mandira Bedi, Lilette Dubey, Arif Zakaria, Kavita Ghai, Gulfam Khan, Priyal Gor and Ankit Raj. Neha Laxmi Iyer and Vishal Nayak are amongst the few cast members that have retained to play characters in the web-series.

Going with the trend of keeping it short in the world of web-series, Qubool Hai 2.0 is just 10 episodes long and is shot in the picturesque Belgrade, Serbia. Though the theme of love will be back again with the series, it will offer more drama and action. This is one of the most important factors that will set it apart from the original daily soap. The series is produced by Mrinal Abhigyan Jha under the banner MAJ Productions, it is directed by Ankush Mohla and Glen Barretto.

People are calling it a smart move, as a classic daily soap is brought back to the newer audience with a story that is going to fit the “criteria” of web-series. With so many differences and yet so much familiarity, the show will most definitely attract the fans of the daily fan but it will be interesting to see whether or not new viewers will join the journey of Asad and Zoya.
