Maddock Films’ ‘Chhaava’ by Laxman Utekar starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead is all set for release tomorrow in theatres. The historical drama is expected to create a huge impact on the box office and the same reflects in its advance booking numbers wherein reportedly more than 3 Lakh tickets have been booked for the opening day in major cinema chains.
This means ‘Chhaava’ can become the biggest opener for 2025 with an opening day collection of around ₹25-30 Crores. But is it all so glorious or is there something sinister going on as rumoured on social media?
A term called “block booking” has emerged once again where it is touted that the production banner has made these bookings themselves to create a hype and high demand for ‘Chhaava’.
This raises some very important and serious questions on the authenticity of the above mentioned datas. Such actions, if and when undertaken, are not just disappointing but also very wrong ethically and morally. Such practices hamper the overall morale of the industry and in the longer run it hurts the reputation of those involved in the process of making the film.
How hurtful is that since we all know it is an elaborate and tedious task and actions like these just spill mud over all the hard work of a whole lot of people both in front and behind the camera.
