Amazon Prime Video is acing the game at bringing in a lot of regional content to widen their viewership. Their latest original movie is the Tamil rural satirical drama ‘Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum’, soon to be released on the 24th of September. Written and Directed by Arisil Moorthy, the film features Mithun Manickam, Ramya Pandian and Vani Bhojan in lead roles. Produced by megastars Suriya and Jyothika under the banner 2D Entertainment, ‘Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum’ has Krishh as music director.
The trailer of ‘Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum‘ released earlier this morning and is another addition to the long list of recent rural dramas. The plotline revolves around a village couple and their two bulls. The trailer starts off with a man registering a complaint of his two missing bulls, who the couple treat as their children. Their hopes are shattered when the police aren’t willing to waste their time on finding the bulls, up until the arrival of media personnel, who sensationalize the case in order to get them justice. Vani Bhojan (of ‘Oh My Kadavule’ fame) plays the role of a journalist-turned-activist, who fights for the couple and educates the villagers of their rights. The trailer ends with an important message, ‘The fourth pillar of democracy is the media’, so they should use their power judiciously.
‘Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum’ is part of the four film deal between actor Suriya and the streaming giant, to get a direct-to-OTT release. As part of the pact, the next four Tamil movies from his production company 2D Entertainment will premiere on Amazon Prime Video over the next four months. The line-up of films apart from ‘Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum’ include a family drama ‘Udanpirappe’ (releasing in October), the legal drama ‘Jai Bhim’ (for November) and a children’s film ‘Oh My Dog’ (premiering in December).
