Raashii Khanna and Atul Kulkarni are the latest to join the cast of Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness’. These newest additions follow Esha Deol’s coming on board for Ajay Devgn’s debut web series earlier this month.
Raashii Khanna who made her acting debut with John Abraham starrer ‘Madras Cafe’ (2013) has predominantly worked in Telugu and Tamil film industry since then. Credits to her name include successful films like ‘Bengal Tiger’, ‘Supreme’, ‘Tholi Prema’, ‘Venky Mama’, Prati Roju Padage’ and more. She will next be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in Raj & D.K.’s (‘The Family Man’) upcoming Amazon Prime web series ‘Sunny’.
On the other hand, Atul Kulkarni is a National Award winning actor known for his work in films like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Hey Ram’, ‘Chandni Bar’ and ‘The Ghazi Attack’ among others.
Apart from Khanna and Kulkarni, the crime drama series also stars Ashwini Kalsekar (‘Laxmii’, ‘Golmaal 3’) and national award winning actor Ashish Vidyarthi who has worked in films like ‘Haider’, ‘Aligarh’ and web series like ‘Sunflower’, ‘Criminal Justice: Begind Closed Doors’ and more.
‘Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness’ is an engaging and dark new take on cop stories, combined with a unique storytelling format and powerful characters. The series that will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar will be directed by Rajesh Mapuskar (‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’).
A Hotstar Special, ‘Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness’ will be a a re-imagination of the popular British series ‘Luther’. The original series is a psychological crime drama, starring Idris Elba in the lead and follows a near-genius, dedicated police officer. The series spanned five successful seasons which aired from 2010 to 2019.
Applause Entertainment will produce the series in association with BBC Studios India. Applause is known for creating some really excellent works like ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, ‘Special OPS’, ‘Criminal Justice’ and more.
Ajay Devgn’s digital debut series ‘Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness’ will premiere soon only on Disney+ Hotstar.
