Rachel Zegler’s Spellbound Moves From Apple To Netflix

Spellbound, led by Rachel Zegler, has moved from Apple to Netflix, according to Deadline. This scenario emerged due to Skydance Animation finding a new home in the form of Netflix after completing its multi-year contract with Apple some time ago. Under the new contract, the animation studio will create and release its projects directly on the streaming platform. All of Skydance’s animated projects will soon arrive on Netflix. Apple TV+ acquired the film’s rights back in 2020.

Apart from Zegler, Spellbound consists of several talented performers, such as Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, and Jordan Fisher.

Spellbound revolves around Princess Ellian (voiced by Zegler), a brave and kind-hearted princess who goes on a dangerous adventure to save her parents and kingdom from an evil curse, which turns her parents, King Solon (Bardem) and Queen Ellsmere (Kidman), into monsters. On her journey, she receives the aid of many eccentric characters.

Directed by Vicky Jenson, Spellbound has Alan Menken’s musical score. Jenson is prominent for helming Shrek (2001) and Shark Tale (2004).

Spellbound has also received a new release window. The Rachel Zegler starrer will arrive on Netflix in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
