Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan‘s next – Radhe has been directed by Leading choreographer and director Prabhu Deva. Radhe will be released on May 13th on the occasion of Eid. The makers are going for a Hybrid model with simultaneous release in theater and on OTT. The movie will be available to audiences that day in theaters, on the Zeeplex, as well as on various DTH platforms.
The producers hope that the release of OTT and DTH will help offset the damage done to the theater business by COVID Second Wave. However, the decision taken by Salman Khan will increase the pressure on the big stars across the country.
Dozens of star films in the Telugu film industry were lying in cans for more than a year. The films have been ruling out the OTT release option saying that it will now work out for big-budget films. However, when a big star like Salman Khan takes such a route, there will be no scopes to give such excuses. If Radhe manages to do good in this Hybrid model, pressure will be on the stars to mull that option. So, May 13th can have the potential to be a gamechanger for the OTT industry.
