Radhe Shyam: The Sad Story Of Prime Video With Hindi Audience

Last year, it was absolutely clear that Prime Video India grabbed gems after gems from South India. Be it Drishyam 2, Joji, Sarpatta Parambarai and a lot more.

Needless to say, it emerged as a phenomenally successful move and people celebrated them. But when it comes to Hindi then their record is not appreciable. No wonder it involves the complexities of rights and the humongous efforts that go behind dubbing.

But the general audience doesn’t care about that. All they need is the availability of a particular film in their preferred language. And in that department, Prime Video is not appreciable.

It is a well-known fact that South Indian films do have a big market amongst the Hindi speaking audience. A few months back in February during the release of Chiyaan Vikram’s Mahaan, the buzz was insane and it was nothing but a disappointment that it was streaming in Telugu and Malayalam along with the original Tamil. Even in Kannada, it was streaming by the name of Mahapurusha.

Talking about Pushpa: The Rise, the Hindi version became available days after the other 4 languages.

Now, this sad story is continuing with the fiasco of Radhe Shyam, the film is streaming in 4 languages but not Hindi.

No wonder the Hindi audience brutally rejected the film but they still deserve a chance to watch the film on OTT and sadly, it isn’t possible on Prime Video at least as of now.
