An actress who has carved her niche in the web-space earlier than anybody else, Radhika Apte, has now bagged an international web-series that will feature on Apple TV+. The web-series will be an adaptation of Shantaram, the best-selling novel written by author Gregory David Roberts set amid India.
Radhika will be seen alongside actor Charlie Hunnam in the series that will also star Richard Roxburgh in a key role. The show’s production will be taken care of, by Anonymous Content and Paramount Television. The scale, expectedly, is going to be huge.
The story of the novel revolves around Lin (Hunnam), a prisoner on the run who seeks a hideout in the country’s financial capital Bombay. Shantaram explores how he finds his feet in an alien city, where he’s surrounded by the underworld, slums and several notorious aspects. Radhika Apte has been cast in the role of Kavita, an Indian journalist, keen to find some answers.
