Rahul Ramakrishna whom we all know as a bright comedian underwent a complete image makeover for his Exclusive Digital Release, NET. He is seen as a married man who looks not very interested in his marriage. He eyes a young girl, Priya (Avika Gor), and registers with an online surveillance agency to watch. However, it has landed him into unforeseen consequences.
The subjects sound novel and interesting. The obsession about peaking into other’s life is an interesting subject and adding the concept of online surveillance makes it novel.
Rahul Ramakrishna nailed the character. The fact that he has chosen a character completely opposite to his image adds freshness. He is thoroughly impressive especially in the last shot and it also piques the interest over the ‘unforeseen consequences. The background score is also effective in enhancing the mood of the thriller.
Avika Gor looks like has done a bold role which is again away from her usual image. NET premieres on Zee5 from September 10th as Vinayaka Chaviti Special. Bhargav Macharla has written and directed this tension drama while Naresh Kumaran has composed the music. Zee5 does not have much interesting content in the Telugu section in recent times. But NET looks promising.
