Big screen entertainment is really great but some stories need to be told in a long and episodic manner. It is a very obvious fact but for a very long period, Indians didn’t even have a platform to entertain such stories. Then happened the grand arrival of OTT.
It celebrated great stories and gave a platform to those artists who did not have a reach in the mainstream film industry and the result is something we all know. Tripti Dimri, Pratik Gandhi, Radhika Apte, and many faces that are familiar now.
Fortunately, OTT did not have the crap of TV serials. These days, the trend seems to be moving in the wrong direction. The latest example is that of the SonyLIV show “Raisinghani Vs Raisinghani”.
It is a SonyLIV exclusive show that is just too crap. The three episodes of the series are already streaming and it is everything that you expect from a typical Indian Soap Opera that is not Saas Bahu.
Cheap editing, a crappy story, stylized characters, and the unbearable flow of the episodes. This is really bad as OTT platforms just to fill their slate put out such shows that help in nothing but degradation of the overall quality of OTT.
We are not saying that only SonyLIV has such shows, other platforms have also done such things. But SonyLIV has built a reputation like no other through shows like Rocket Boys, Scam 1992, and Tabbar. When we see them making such crap then it is definitely painful as an audience.
