Rajesh Khanna’s Iconic 70s Film ‘Anand’ Set For A Remake!

Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan starrer 1971 iconic Hindi drama film ‘Anand’ is officially getting a remake. The new version will be produced by the organisation producer N. C. Sippy’s grandson Sameer Raj Sippy in association with producer Vikram Khakhar (‘Main aur Charles’, ‘One by Two’)

The announcement was made by trade analyst Tarun Adarsh on his social media with pictures of the producers posing with framed posters of the original ‘Anand’ movie. He wrote,

“OFFICIAL REMAKE OF ‘ANAND’ ANNOUNCED… #Anand – one of the most iconic films starring #RajeshKhanna and #AmitabhBachchan, directed by #HrishikeshMukherjee – will be remade by the original producer – #NCSippy’s grandson #SameerRajSippy – along with producer #VikramKhakhar.”

The film is said to be in scripting stage and the cast and crew including the director is yet to be finalised by the makers. Other details about the film are also under wraps as of now.

One of the greatest hits of its time ‘Anand’ is a 1971 Hindi drama film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee who produced the film along with N. C. Sippy. With Rajesh Khanna in the lead the film also started Amitabh Bachchan, Sumita Sanyal, Ramesh Deo and Seema Deo among others

Fans of the cult classic original version have raised apprehensions about the remake and are afraid that it will ruin the original film. One also said that it wouldn’t be possible to match the level of a masterpiece like ‘Anand’. On the other hand some others made suggestions for the lead actors for the remake.
