Some films are merely inspiring while others are moving. Srikanth falls in the second category. While biopics are a reflection of creativity scarcity, some of them are really worth it.
Srikanth is one such biopic of Srikanth Bolla that stars Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, Jyothika and others in important roles.
The biopic tells the inspiring story of Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired entrepreneur who founded Bollant Industries in 2012 to employ unskilled and differently-abled individuals to make eco-friendly products. Born blind in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth faced many challenges, including bullying at school and initial rejection from top Indian colleges. With the support of his mentor Devika, he became the first visually impaired international student at MIT. After meeting his girlfriend Swati and graduating, Srikanth returned to India to start a business. There were many setbacks, but he successfully established Bollant Industries, which ultimately provided jobs to the disabled and achieved his dreams.
The film was released on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya but did not do any wonders at the box office.
Regardless, it is getting released on Netflix India tomorrow i.e. tonight at 12 AM. It is a nice film and you may consider watching it over the weekend.
