Much-awaited Telugu film Rang De began streaming on ZEE5 this afternoon, one day earlier than its announced date. Audiences were overjoyed, while most entertainment websites informed their readers by tweeting about the early premiere of Rang De.
Soon though, about an hour or so after Rang De began streaming on ZEE5, the film was unceremoniously removed from the streaming platform. Audiences that logged on to ZEE5 some time later complained that the film is not streaming. Upon a bit of checking, we found that the film was still streaming on ZEE5 Premium for those viewers who had already begun streaming Rang De the moment it became available.
However, subscribers who searched for Rang De on ZEE5 about an hour later were met with the message “Oops, something went wrong!” It seems that a glitch in the ZEE5 platform had made Rang De available to stream for viewers this afternoon. As soon as the folks at ZEE5 Premium realised the blooper, they immediately yanked the film off from streaming. After more time had passed, Rang De became unavailable for streaming even for those viewers for whom it was still streaming.
Looks like ZEE5 plans to stick to the originally announced premiere date for Rang De after all – that is 12th June. So guys, the Nithiin and Keerthy Suresh starrer Rang De will be available to stream only tonight at 12 midnight. Better catch it then, folks!
