It’s here. Finally the much awaited movie “’83”, that will retell the story of the historic moment when India lifted the Cricket World Cup in 1983, has a release date. Ranveer Singh revealed the poster for the movie along with the release date through Twitter. The movie directed by Kabir Khan is slated to release on the 4th of June, 2021 and will be releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, in theatres. The movie was earlier scheduled to release back in 2020 but the pandemic that ruled over the world in 2020, delayed the release of the project.
People impatiently waited for the announcement of the release date of the movie as soon as theatres started opening and other movies started revealing their release dates. This has been by far, one of the most awaited movies for the year in Bollywood. The movie definitely holds special meaning for every Indian out there. The wise decision of releasing this movie in 4 other languages apart from Hindi gives it a bonus. Fans from the non-hindi speaking regions won’t have to wait for the movie and can watch the movie, just when it is released.
The movie revolves around the story of Indian team that represented India in the 1983 Cricket World Cup held in England. The movie stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev along with Deepika Padukone who will be seen essaying the role of Romi Dev. All the players that were part of the team back in 1983 will be portrayed in the film and the roles will be played by Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Adinath Kothare, Sahil Khattar, Dhairya Karwa along with others.
