Scottish director, writer, producer, and cinematographer best known for her uncanny feature films ‘Ratcatcher’, ‘Morvern Callar’, ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’, and ‘You Were Never Really Here’, Lynne Ramsay was most recently honored by the renowned Reykjavik’s Stockfish Fest.
Ramsay has recently stated that she has three scripts ready to begin working on. Most likely to go on the floor first is “Die, My Love”. Starring Academy-award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, the film will be an adaptation of a novel by Argentinian writer Ariana Harwicz.
The plot will revolve around a woman living in isolation in rural France who ultimately loses her mind amid the waves of marriage and motherhood. Apart from this, the second in the list is the provisionally-titled “Dark Slides”, a sinister drama rumored to star Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara from an original script.
The third project on her list of upcoming films is “Stone Mattress”, an adaptation of a short tale by acclaimed Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, is likely to be the most complex production since it is to be set on a cruise ship in the Arctic. Last year, Julianne Moore, Sandra Oh, and Kyle Chandler were reported to get on board the project.
While she already has multiple projects on the go, it will be exciting for fans of her surreal and eerie productions to witness what Ramsay comes up with next!
