The Eagle didn’t soar high and didn’t stay airborne for long, as it was grounded by an extremely average box office run, resulting in the eagle’s wings being clipped. Ravi Teja’s film is now seized by two OTT platforms, likely marking the end of its dismal box office journey.
Although the Eagle didn’t secure any OTT partners during its theatrical release, which is quite unusual for a big-budget Telugu film, it managed to garner appreciation from fans; its 8.3 rating on IMDb can attest to that.
The Eagle made its theatrical debut on February 9th but quickly wrapped up the majority of its run and announced the OTT partnerships. The film has been acquired by Prime Video, while ETV Win will also stream it, as Prime Video is amenable to dual OTT deals.
The story revolves around Sahadev Varma, a notorious assassin known as Eagle, who assumes a new identity as a cotton farmer to dismantle an illegal arms ring operating in Talakona.
Nalini, a journalist, investigates Eagle’s hidden past after her report on his rare cotton sparks suspicion among RAW agents. Driven by curiosity, she delves into Eagle’s history to understand his motives, offering compelling character development.
No dates have been announced by either of these OTT platforms, but announcements can be expected soon.
