Retro Indian films have a special place in everyone’s heart and people still rewatch certain classics from the past to admire their excellence. Re-releasing them in the theatres, however, looked like a risky move as fans are constantly in search of something new.
Which seemed like a risky move at first, is now going all over the Indian Cinema industry like a trend. From cult classics like Gangs of Wasseypur to underrated spectacles like Laila Majnu, fans are having the time of their life reliving these epics in theatres once again.
The latest addition to this list is Tumbbad. Considered to be one of the most unique films of all time, the makers are ready to treat the fans with an official re-release of the film from 13th September in cinemas. While the film wasn’t very popular during its initial time of release, fans have grown to admire the excellence of the film with time.
The 75th Venice International Film Festival’s Critics’ Week saw the premiere of the Indian film, which was directed by Rahi Anil Barve. In addition, the film received three wins and eight nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards.
Facing its competition in theatres is Kareena Kapoor’s The Buckingham Murders. Kareena will play Jasmeet Bhamra, popularly known as Jass, a cop who is grieving the loss of her child and is assigned to the investigation of a missing child in the murder mystery set in the UK. This film will also mark Kareena’s production debut and is directed by Hansal Mehta.
While both the films are full of thrill and suspense, it would be a treat for fans to witness both of these epic tales in cinemas from 13th September.
