We are less than a month away from watching Reacher Season 2 on Prime Video. Fans’ excitement for this show is augmenting with every passing day, naturally forcing them to think about which Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel will be chosen as source material for the sophomore entry. Well, the streaming network has revealed that the author’s 11th book in the Reacher series, Bad Luck and Trouble, has been selected for Season 2, which is quite surprising given its predecessor was based on Killing Floor, the first Reacher book.
While not without its dangers, the strategy of Nick Santora’s team to randomly select the 11th Reacher novel is intriguing. This scenario gives writers ample room for creativity. Santora has also disclosed that his team would not follow the chronological order of Lee Child’s novels. It means his team can take significant creative liberties in terms of storytelling.
According to the latest rumours, Santora’s team will primarily focus on the big and key events of ‘Bad Luck and Trouble’. We can also see Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher re-teaming with Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley in Season 2. The upcoming entry events will mainly take place in Las Vegas and California. Fans may witness the duo investigating the mysterious deaths of their former team members.
On the bright side, the plan of commencing Season 2 without relying on the first season may be immensely beneficial for Prime Video. This situation gives the showrunners a chance to play with a near-blank slate in the second entry, a strategy that Lee Child has used in his Reacher novels. Fans may get to watch plenty of creative storytelling in Season 2. However, Prime Video needs to execute this plan carefully.
Reacher Season 2 will feature plenty of new faces, like Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley, Josh Blacker, Luke Bilyk, Dean McKenzie, Robert Patrick, and Domenick Lombardozzi. It will arrive on Prime Video on December 15. Stay tuned for more updates.
