On 4th February, all other platforms such as Netflix, Disney+Hotstar and SonyLIV are focussing on Indian Titles. Meanwhile, Prime Video has started streaming on Reacher making it the only available option in case of foreign shows.
However, Reacher is not truly a new character, it was created by Lee Child in 1997. It has a series of books and Reacher is based on the first book called “Killing Floor”. It was immensely popular and even got adapted in a Tom Cruise duology.
The movies turned out to be disappointing as they didn’t do justice to Child’s character. Thus, all hopes now stick with Prime Video’s Reacher.
Regardless, Alan Ritchston is playing the titular character in the recently released series. If you happen to be a bibliophile and have read the book then you would notice one important thing. Jack Reacher is a well-built giant man and the action sequences are perfectly shown through Child’s words.
At least, Ritchston is much closer to Reacher’s built than Cruise was. One thing that helped Reacher become such a successful book series was its action. If the makers take inspiration from the originally mentioned action sequences and choreograph it accordingly, then it may turn out to be great.
Thus after the disappointing film series, Reacher is our only hope and let’s see how high it reaches.
