Really? Yet Another Remake From Akshay Kumar?

Despite his titles having a hard time at the box office lately, National Award recipient (amongst numerous other accolades) Akshay Kumar continues to be one of the most influential Bollywood actors. Because at the end of the day, shit hits the fan for everybody at one point or the other.

His latest comedy movie ‘Khel Khel Mein’ debuted to a largely lukewarm response in theatres recently. Other than that, the actor has delivered his fair share of box-office debacles. Despite all of that, fans were overjoyed when he announced his next project. A highly anticipated collaboration with the iconic director Priyadarshan for yet another horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’.

Having delivered back to back flops, the superstar is in dire need of redemption. However, will that redemption come in the form of yet another remake? Despite having claimed that the script for the upcoming movie is an original, fans are having a hard time believing that, considering the amount of remakes that the actor has been a part of.

Many have also been quick to draw comparisons of the poster and promo video for the new film with the Malayalam hit ‘In Ghost House Inn’. Well, whether or not the film is a remake will be obvious to the public soon enough. Will this collaboration, however, be the masterstroke that saves Kumar’s dwindling career?
