Most of you might already be aware that the globally renowned movies and series database portal IMDb houses a list of the highest rated movies of all time. And the latest entrant to find a place on the coveted IMDb top 250 Indian films list is the Tamil language romantic comedy drama Indian movie ‘Love Today’, which was released in theatres on 4th November.
‘Love Today’ has made its way to the IMDb list and currently holds Rank 215. As of now, the film boasts of an impressive user rating 8.6/10 on IMDb.
Currently, the highest ranked Indian movie from 2022 on IMDb top 250 Indian movies list is the R. Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ (Rank 2), followed by ‘777 Charlie’ (Rank 3), ‘Kantara’ (Rank 7), ‘Sita Ramam’ (Rank 31), ‘Vikram’ (Rank 59), ‘Drishyam 2’ (Rank 74), ‘Jana Mana Gana’ (Rank 108), ‘Kaun Pravin Tambe?’ (Rank 118), ‘KGF 2’ (Rank 139), ‘Major’ (Rank 164), ‘RRR’ (Rank 189), and ‘Hridayam (Rank 205).
Coming back to ‘Love Today’, the film has proved to be a theatrical success and has grossed around Rs.70 crores at the box office against a modest budget of Rs.5 crores. Besides its commercial success, the movie also received positive feedback from the audiences and several film critics.
Moreover, on the movie ticketing portal BookMyShow, ‘Love Today’ has garnered 9.6/10 user rating based on around 72k votes.
‘Love Today’ has been written and directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, who also plays the lead role in the movie. The film has been adapted from Pradeep Ranganathan’s short film titled ‘App(a) Lock’. The underlying premise of ‘Love Today’ revolves around a couple whose phones are exchanged for a day, leading to an amusing turn of events. It also features Radhika Sathyakumar, Sathyaraj, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles.
After its successful theatrical run, ‘Love Today’ is now all geared up to start streaming on the Netflix OTT platform from this Friday, that is, from 2nd December onwards.
