The wait gets longer for the Wizarding World. The release of the trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secret of Dumbledore is delayed. The social media account of Fantastic Beasts made this announcement a few hours ago. No further details on when the fans may expect the trailer to drop are provided. So why was the release delayed?
A couple of days ago, Jude Law who plays the character of Dumbledore, had announced that the new trailer is set to be released on 24th February 2022. Fans were excited as the first trailer was released in December 2022 and a second trailer was due with the movie scheduled to release on 15th April 2022.
There has been no official confirmation but followers on twitter believe that this could be because of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Given that these countries are in the middle of a war, people believe it is the right decision. There are views that it would have been insensitive to release a trailer of a movie where one dark wizard (Gellert Grindelwald) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world with another wizard (Albus Dumbledore) and his army trying to stop him. Also, the plot of the Fantastic Beasts series connects the Wizarding World War and Muggle World War II with both wars set for an end in 1945. Fans are disappointed with the delay but most seem to support this decision.
There are reports that the movie itself may be delayed. However, we do not have any official announcement from Warner Bros. on that front as well. The movie has already been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third instalment in this series. A total of five movies are expected to be released as part of the series.
