Release Of Haathi Mere Saathi Has Been Postponed-Here’s Why!

Haathi Mere Saathi, is Rana Daggubati’s much anticipated upcoming movie that was supposed to release in theatres on the 26th of March, 2021. The movie was set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions. The movie stars Rana Daggubati in the lead along with Shriya Pilgaonkar, Pulkit Sharma, Zoya Hussain in lead roles.

Now it has been confirmed that the Hindi version of the movie won’t be released in theatres on the scheduled date. While that happens, Tamil and Telugu versions will release in theatres just as scheduled. The news has been confirmed by the makers, and even though it has been delayed, the new date has not yet been decided.

The decision has been taken, keeping in mind the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases all over again. When people were expecting the COVID cases to finally cease, the new and bigger surge in the cases reported have pushed back everything once again.

Also, Mumbai is one of the biggest markets for all the movies that are released and also one of the cities with the biggest rise in latest COVID-19 cases. The Maharashtra government has also released notices earlier that movie theatres and auditoriums will be operating at a 50% capacity till the 31st of March, 2021. With the ongoing rise, it looks like 31st March won’t be the last date, it will definitely go beyond that.

Also people are staying away from certain areas as random COVID tests are being conducted in public places, specially malls and theatres. Moreover, if you are entering a mall or other public places, one has to show a Negative COVID-19 report. Also, masks have been made mandatory and in many places fines are being imposed if anyone is seen without masks.

This announcement has come up on a day when India has reported 40,715 cases within a span of 24 hours. Out of those cases, 24,645 cases were recorded from Maharashtra alone which is more than half of the total. India now has a total of more than 3.45 lakh active cases.
