Return To World of Witcher in Intriguing Prequel Series Trailer

Despite all the current negative chatter regarding Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ series, one thing that has everyone excited for unanimously is the upcoming prequel series set in the same world titled ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’, starring Michelle Yeoh. And judging from the trailer, Yeoh is coming again to claim 2022 for her own after her spellbinding performance in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.

Short and crisp, the trailer is successful in building the air of intrigue around the series and the premise. With its aesthetic rich cinematography and visual effects, the trailer is a treat to watch. Set in an elven world 1200 years before the time of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ will tell a tale lost to history: the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.

With Henry Cavill’s sudden exit from the series and Liam Hemsworth gearing up to take over as the grumpy yet loved witcher Geralt, the praise-worthy trailer of ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ will definitely give Netflix some room for breathing at the time of all the fan rage the streamer is getting.

The first teaser trailer for the series was released by Netflix as a post-credit scene in the last released season of ‘The Witcher’. The teaser introduced Yeoh as the deadly Scian, the last member of a nomadic tribe of sword elves on a quest to retrieve a blade stolen from her people — along with Sophia Brown as Éile and Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall, her companions on the journey. This four-part prequel series is all set to premiere on Netflix on 25 December.
