Revealed: ZEE5’s Rajeev Khandelwal Series Naxalbari’s Premiere Date!

ZEE5 has a new web series in the works, focusing on a novel and intriguing subject at its core. It is the soon to be released ‘Naxalbari’, a show that revolves around the revolutionary naxal movement in Central India. ZEE5 had announced the making of the show way back in January. Now we are privvy to the premiere date of Naxalbari. The highly anticipated show will premiere on 2nd October.

It is a carefully chosen date for the premiere of Naxalbari to happen. 2nd October, being Gandhi Jayanti, is a holiday across the country. A good enough time as any for viewers to binge-watch ZEE5’s labour of love.

Naxalbari is headlined by popular star, Rajeev Khandelwal. He plays a Special Task Force (STF) officer, who is sent on a secret undercover mission to Naxal hotspot Gadchiroli. His mandate — to curtail a fast-brewing revival of a Naxal uprising. It is only when he dives into the thick of things that he realises that the mission is dangerous to his well-being not only in physical terms, but also emotionally.

Naxalbari packs in an action-packed punch in its eight episodes, as STF cop Raghav (Rajeev Khandelwal) races against time to succeed in his mission. The narrative oscillates between the dense jungles of Maharashtra and big cities, as a web of intrigue and deceit weaves its way into the civil societies of metros, the new hotbeds of Naxal ideology.

Naxalbari boasts a stellar cast of Rajeev Khandelwal, Tina Datta, Aamir Ali, Sreejita Dey, Narayani Shastri and Satyadeep Mishra. It is produced by GSEAMS for ZEE5 and directed by Partho Mitra.
