Riveting First Look Of Netflix’s ’The Chestnut Man’ Is Here!

Netflix has unveiled the first look images of its much awaited upcoming Danish original series ‘The Chestnut Man’. Coming from the creator of ‘The Killing’, ‘The Chestnut Man’ will premiere globally only on Netflix on 29th September, 2021.

The images released by Netflix features the cast of ‘The Chestnut Man’ in intense looks testifying to the Nordic noir genre of the series. There are visuals of a crime scene, an investigation going on and most importantly the images capture the iconic figure made out of chestnut marking the signature of the killer’s presence.

Based on the debut novel by award winning writer and creator of ‘The Killing’ Søren Sveistrup, ‘The Chestnut Man’ is a Danish character driven psychological thriller series that begins in a quiet suburb in Copenhagen where the police make a terrible discovery one blustery October morning.

A young woman is found brutally murdered in a playground and one of her hands is missing. Next to her lies a small man made of chestnuts. The ambitious young detective Naia Thulin (Danica Curcic) is assigned to the case, along with her new partner, Mark Hess (Mikkel Boe Følsgaard). They soon discover a mysterious piece of evidence on the chestnut man – evidence connecting it to a girl who went missing a year earlier and was presumed dead – the daughter of politician (DK: Socialminister) Rosa Hartung (Iben Dorner).

Directed by Mikkel Serup (conceptual director) and Kasper Barfoed, ‘The Chestnut Man’ has an ensemble cast of Danica Curcic, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Iben Dorner, Lars Ranthe, David Dencik, Esben Dalgaard, Morten Brovn, Jens Jørgen Spottag, Camilla Lau, Peder Thomas Pedersen, Marie-Lydie Melono Nokouda and Anders Hove among others.

Søren Sveistrup, Dorte W. Høgh & David Sandreuter serve as head writers for the series which they have created for the screen along with Mikkel Serup. Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl and Stine Meldgaard have produced ’The Chestnut Man’ while Søren Sveistrup, Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen and Mikkel Serup serve as its executive producers. SAM productions is the company behind the Netflix series.

The Chestnut Man’ will launch worldwide exclusively on Netflix on 29th September, 2021.
