All the buzz, all the controversies, the hype, the Rotten Tomatoes score and even the Conor McGregor thing was worth it. Road House is a massive hit on Prime Video. It is a remake of an old action movie from 1989. Since it came out on March 21st, a whopping 50 million people have watched it! That’s a record for Amazon.
The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays a tough guy named Dalton. He used to be a fighter in the UFC, and now he’s hired to keep order in a bar in Florida. Other famous faces in the movie include Conor McGregor, Daniela Melchior, Darren Barnet, and Billy Magnussen.
The journey to get this movie made wasn’t easy. The director, Doug Liman, was upset at first because the movie was released on Prime Video instead of the theaters. But eventually, he changed his mind. There was also some drama with one of the producers leaving before the movie came out.
Even though it’s a remake, “Road House” brings something new to the table. It’s got exciting action scenes and a great cast, which has attracted both fans of the original and new viewers. Also, the newness and rawness it brings charmed the audience like nothing else.
