Road House: Jake Gyllenhaal Quashes Director’s Controversy

From one perspective, we can definitely say that the promotion of Road House is going terrific. There are multiple fight scenes in the movie but who cares?

The makers of the film are already showing those combat skills through their sensational activities.

The latest fight is between the claims of the leading actor and the director themselves.

The stars and makers of the movie “Road House” are in a big disagreement over how the film will be released. The director, Doug Liman, is upset because the movie will only be available on Amazon Prime Video instead of being shown in theatres. He’s even refusing to go to the movie’s big premiere at SXSW. Imagine, the director who is actually the daddy of the film abandoning his movie.

Jake Gyllenhaal, one of the main actors, says that from the beginning, the plan was for “Road House” to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video. He explains that the team chose to take $85 Million to have the movie only on streaming, instead of $60 Million for a theatrical release.

But there’s been tension because one of the producers, Joel Silver, really wanted the movie to be shown in theaters. Liman is upset because he thinks Amazon doesn’t care about cinemas and is only interested in selling products. He believes that by not showing the movie in theaters, the actors and filmmakers won’t get the recognition they deserve.

But it is too late now. The movie will definitely drop on Prime Video and the decision to put it on the big screens is possible only in an alternate universe.

So, “Road House” will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 21st. The ongoing fight is interesting, but the real deal would be the one we see in the film.
