Trailer for Rohit Shetty’s ’Cirkus’ is now out and it’s one magical fun ride. Led by Ranveer Singh, ‘Cirkus’ will release in cinemas this Christmas on 23rd December, 2022.
The trailer begins with a grand circus show where highlight is the electric man played by Ranveer Singh. ‘Cirkus’ takes the viewers back in time to the electrifying era of the 60s and has a whole retro feel to it.
Confusion starts to erupt when Ranveer Singh and his friend (played by Varun Sharma) have their doppelgängers roaming around the same city. What follows is a comedy of errors in a vibrant, aesthetic and colourful carnival of sorts where everything and everyone has a larger than life on screen presence.
Deepika Padukone’s cameo for a song and the ‘Golmaal’ orphanage reference towards the end are some other highlights of the ‘Cirkus’ trailer.
‘Cirkus’ is a much awaited period comedy drama film directed and produced by Rohit Shetty. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Johnny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Siddharth Jadhav, Vijay Patkar, Sulabha Arya, Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Bangia among others.
As far as film’s storyline goes it’s got quite a long history dating back to 1869. ‘Cirkus’ is based on the the 1982 Hindi film ‘Angoor’ which was a remake of the 1968 film ‘Do Dooni Chaar’. But it doesn’t stop there, ‘Do Dooni Char’ was itself adapted from a 1963 Bengali film ‘Bhranti Bilas’ that was based on Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s eponymous play. It doesn’t end here either this play too was an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play ‘Comedy of Errors’.
‘Cirkus’ is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Reliance Entertainment and T-Series. ‘Cirkus’ will release in cinemas on 23rd December, 2022.
