Role Auctioned For ‘Emily In Paris’ S5, Netflix Denies Renewal!

A recent controversy has flared up at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. A walk-on role in the popular Netflix series ‘Emily In Paris’ has been auctioned in the amfAR Gala in Cannes this year. The amfAR Gala is a charity event that raises money for researches in HIV and AIDS.

A grand total of €250,000 was paid by a person who is expected to appear in the fifth season of ‘Emily In Paris’ and there will also be a chance to be present during the premiere of the fourth season of the show. But the fifth season has not even been announced. Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson, who hosted the auction in the event claimed that the fifth season will start shooting next year.

According to the website of the event, the auction comes as the courtesy of Darren Star, the creator of the show. It was hinted that the fifth season is already in the works. But the makers have said that there is no such news. There is still no confirmation from Netflix and according to media reports the platform has denied all such claims.

In the meantime, the fourth season of ‘Emily In Paris’ is all set to premiere. It will be releasing in two parts. The production of the show was hampered due to the actors’ and writers’ strike in 2023. The first part will release on August 15, while the second part will premiere on the 12th of September.
