Disney Plus is currently gearing up for the release of Academy Award winning filmmaker Ron Howard’s documentary film ‘Jim Henson Idea Man’. The film premieres worldwide on Disney Plus on 31st May, 2024. ‘Jim Henson Idea Man’ tells the story of Jim Henson, the world-renowned puppeteer and creator of The Muppets, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock. Idea Man will release on Disney Plus Hotstar in India on the same day.
Disney Plus recently unveiled the trailer for ‘Jim Henson Idea Man’. From the looks of it, Idea Man seems like a film worth watching. It recounts the story of Jim Henson, filmmaker, actor and puppeteer par excellence, from his childhood days to his realisation of his passion, and finally, his rise to eminence in the world of storytelling and children’s entertainment.
The trailer of Idea Man hints at a movie that has a dream-like quality to it. It seems magical, sparkly and sublime. From one on one interviews with people who once knew the legendary Jim Henson, Ron Howard’s documentary film tries to capture the essence of the man that was Jim Henson. The movie also deploys never-before-seen personal archival home movies, photographs, sketches, and Henson’s personal diaries, to delve deep into the psyche of Jim Henson, and what drove him to be the creator he was.
As per Disney Plus, ‘Jim Henson Idea Man’ is an unprecedented, intimate look at Henson’s illustrious, revolutionary career and complex personal life. The film is produced by Imagine Documentaries. Ron Howard also serves as a producer alongside Brian Grazer, Sara Bernstein, Margaret Bodde, Justin Wilkes, Mark Monroe and Christopher St. John.
Jim Henson Idea Man premieres on Disney Plus and Disney Plus Hotstar on 31st May, 2024.
