RRKPK Gets Selected For 28th Busan International Film Festival!

One more feather on Karan Johar’s cap: ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ has been selected for the Busan International Film Festival. It has been selected in the ‘Open Cinema Section’ in the 28th edition of the festival.

The movie was a commercial success and did a very good business at the box office. It marked Karan Johar’s return to the director’s chair after a long gap of seven years. His last directorial venture was ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.

The Busan Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world and having one’s film screened in such a Festival is a pretty big deal. The festival will be held from the 4th to 13th of October this year.

The film tells the story of a rich and cheerful Punjabi guy named Rocky who falls in love with a Bengali girl named Rani who comes from an enriched cultural and intellectual background. There is much difference in the two families and it is not very easy for them to come together as one. The movie stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles and has actors like Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra in other important roles. Rocky Aur Rani rocked the box office and impressed fans with its grand Bollywoodish style of storytelling.

Now that it is being screened at the Busan Film Festival, it is a matter of great pride for all Indians and it is an opportunity for promoting and extending the ‘Grand Indian Storytelling Style’ in such a prestigious international forum.
