RRR Comes To Hotstar! Will It Repeat The Success It Had On Zee5?

Yesterday, Binged talked about whether Netflix is unwillingly hijacking the identity of RRR. Mainly because it was available on either Netflix or Zee5 and the latter is nowhere to compete in terms of subscriber count or popularity as a whole.

But now, RRR is streaming on Disney+Hotstar in 4 languages namely Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam along with the original Telugu.

Now there’s a tussle. We all know that RRR was streamed on Zee5 for more than 1000 million minutes. Although it is the most streamed film on Zee5, it is nowhere close to what Netflix earned in just Hindi.

But let’s consider the curious case of Disney+Hotstar. The subscriber base of the platform is exceptionally huge in comparison to Zee5 or even Netflix.

But the bigger question is, can RRR repeat or heighten the success it had on Zee5.

Since such a buzzy, great film is dropped on the largest OTT platform in India then naturally people will be inclined to watch it.

But the answer should be YES.

Although a lot of people have watched the film on OTT, it is such a huge title that many people will still watch it.

And the credit goes to the huge subscriber base only.
