RRR Enters IMDb Top 250 List. Has It Already Beaten Baahubali 1 & 2?

S.S. Rajamouli’s latest directorial ‘RRR’ was certainly amongst the most eagerly anticipated theatrical releases of 2022. After a long and worthy wait, the big-ticket film finally made its way to cinemas yesterday, that is, on 25th March 2022.

And merely within hours of its release, ‘RRR’, albeit rather unsurprisingly, has already achieved the feat of entering the coveted IMDb list of the top-rated Indian movies of all time.

Currently, ‘RRR’ boasts an IMDb rating of 9.2/10 based on around 13000 votes by IMDb users. And the movie is placed on the 99th rank on the IMDb list at the time of writing this article.

Interestingly, the IMDb rank of ‘RRR’ yesterday was 228, which means that the film is rapidly climbing up the IMDb charts. It remains to be seen whether RRR can make it to the top ten Indian movies on IMDb, or who knows, maybe even top the list.

But has ‘RRR’ already outranked S.S. Rajamouli’s previous two epic films ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’?

And the answer is: YES. ‘RRR’ has beaten both ‘Baahubali’ 1 & 2 on the aforementioned IMDb top 250 Indian movies list. Because ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ is currently placed on 185th rank and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is just behind ‘RRR’ on rank 100.

Moreover, in doing that, ‘RRR’ has also become the second film, after ‘Hridayam’, from the year 2022 to enter IMDb’s top-rated Indian movies list. While the top-ranked Indian film of all time on IMDb is Suriya’s hard-hitting legal drama ‘Jai Bhim’.

S.S Rajamouli’s period actioner ‘RRR’ features Ram Charan and Jr.NTR in the lead roles and Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. ‘RRR’ is a fictional tale set in the 1920s that revolves around two legendary Indian revolutionaries namely Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (played by Jr. NTR).
