Netizens are sometimes too harsh on any film/series and sometimes the contrary. But the fact is, hype aids in generating views and ultimately mints cash to the producers. Such is the case with Disney+Hotstar’s latest release Rudra. This Ajay Devgn show is based on Luther, a BBC series.
Just a week before Gangubai Kathiawadi was released in which Ajay played a small yet important role. Today, he made his digital debut with Rudra making him one of the first A-listers to join the OTT industry after Saif Ali Khan of course.
Regardless, Twitteratis are giving mixed reactions to the show. Unfortunately, it is not garnering a positive response like A Thursday that was released on Disney+Hotstar. But you would find a clear cut divide between those reactions.
Those who have watched Idris Elba’s Luther are unhappy with the series as they are doing a direct comparison between the two. However, those singing praises have not tasted the original thriller streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Still, after everything else, Rudra is buzzy and at least generating views and conversations about the film. This is perhaps the biggest thing the makers can ask but one thing is obvious.
People are fed up with remakes. They need original films/series in Hindi and with international quality. That’s for sure an undoubted advice that our film industry must follow without a delay.
