Rupert Friend, Stuart Martin Get Aboard Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’

Netflix has announced the addition of Rupert Friend (Anatomy of a Scandal, Homeland) and Stuart Martin (Army of Thieves, Miss Scarlet and the Duke) to the cast of Zack Snyder’s sci-fi epic saga ‘Rebel Moon’.

They join the previously announced Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae and Ray Fisher. ‘Rebel Moon’ is the story of a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They then dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.

Zack Snyder serves as the film’s director which he has co-written with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. ‘Rebel Moon’ is produced by Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller and Zack Snyder for The Stone Quarry and Eric Newman for Grand Electric. Executive producers for the film are Bergen Swanson, Sarah Bowen for Grand Electric, Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad.

‘Rebel Moon’ is the fifth collaboration of the streaming giant Netflix with Shay Hatten who previously wrote Netflix’s hit film Army of the Dead with Zack Snyder, Matthias Schweighöfer’s Army of Thieves and two upcoming films : an anime spin-off Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, and the vampire hunting film Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx.

Moreover, ‘Rebel Moon’ is the first feature to fall under the first look partnership between The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller, and Netflix.
