Suddenly, post the second wave of covid, Russia has emerged as the hot favourite shooting destination for Indian Films. With the filming schedules of many Bollywood and Kollywood movies being held in Russia, the latest one to join the trend is the Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Tiger 3‘. The cast and crew are being flown to Russia on Wednesday, 18th August to shoot the international portions of the Aditya Chopra production.
Produced by YashRaj Films and directed by Maneesh Sharma (of ‘Band Baaja Baraat’, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, ‘Fan’, ‘Hichki’ fame), this movie marks the third installment of the ‘Tiger’ franchise. The film aims at being a spectacular theatrical experience and will see the lead stars, Salman and Katrina, back in action with some high octane stunt scenes. For this installment, they are joined by Emraan Hashmi who plays the antagonist. The entire international schedule is said to be an intense 45-day one, that will be shot in at least 5 international destinations, including Austria and Turkey. The schedule expected to get over by first week of October, is filled with extensive action sequences, for which the crew is reportedly being flown around via a jumbo chartered flight!
It was earlier reported that the sequel to Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Heropanti’, (starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon) also had the cast and crew fly to Russia to commence the second schedule for the film. Directed by Ahmed Khan, ‘Heropanti 2’ stars Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. Filming began in Moscow last month and was to be followed by the next schedule in St. Petersburg. Next, we heard that the cast and crew of Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi starrer, ‘Om : The Battle Within’ were also headed to Russia for a 10 day schedule of the film, when actress Sanjana took to social media to post an update. The latest entrant prior to ‘Tiger 3’, was South Star Ajith’s much-awaited film ‘Valimai’. The cast and crew will also be flying to Russia on the 20th of this month for a short, final schedule to shoot the remaining portions.
Coming back to Salman Khan, it is unclear, however, as to how the actor will manage the shoot of ‘Bigg Boss 15’, post the OTT version that will end around mid September. The OTT version of the hit reality show commenced on 8th August and is being hosted by director Karan Johar. It is probable that the show may see a slight extension on Voot, before hitting television, or Karan may host the initial portions on behalf of Salman. Well, we will only know for sure closer to the date.
Meanwhile, Salman also has several other films in the pipeline, including ‘Kick 2’, ‘Bhaijaan’ and ‘Antim’. As for Katrina, she will be seen in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Phone Bhoot’ alongside Ishaan Khattar and Siddhant Chaturvedi and the recently announced Farhan Akhtar film,‘Jee Le Zara’ with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt.
