Netflix is on the road to be more ambitious with its financial backing. “The Gray Man” starrer Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans upcoming film which will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo is set to have a budget upward $200 million.
The film is based on 2009 novel by Mark Greaney which introduced Gray Man as a freelance assassin and former CIA operative named Court Gentry. Ryan will be playing Gentry as the killer and Chris Evan’s as Lloyd Hansen, a former cohort at the CIA who is hunting him.
The book turned to be a bestseller series and it is expected that Gosling will continue in instalments.
The project was earlier developed by Brad Pitt and James Gray (Ad Astra) which lapsed and Russo’s been doing it for years.
While this will be first time for Gosling to work with Russo brothers, Chris has been in the MCU with Russo’s for years now.
Russo’s AGBO will be producing alongside Mike Larocca, Joe Roth and Hoff Kirschenbaum. The film is written by Joe Russo and polished by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely who scripted ‘Captain America’ and ‘Avengers’ films also are co presidents of story at AGBO.
AGBO also produced Russo’s ‘Extraction’ starring Chris Hemsworth and Randeep Hooda for Netflix which was one of the most watched Original films.
According to Joe and Anthony Russo, Netflix is the perfect place for ‘The Gray Man’ seeing the scale they’re aiming to compete with a theatrical film.
Well we hope to see the exciting Combination of Russo Brothers and Netflix delivering a hit soon on our screens.
