Ryan Reynolds Too Busy To Take Up Disney’s New Live Action Film?

The news that Ryan Reynolds has been eyed by Disney for their live-action remake of ‘Atlantis: The Lost Empire’, has been persisting for a few days now. The animated version of the film was critically panned, but the visuals and music were spectacular and with some solid work on the screenplay, Disney could have a quiet hit in their hands. But chances are Reynolds probably won’t be part of the feature, especially if it is going into production in the next couple of years.

Currently Reynolds has 13 projects he is currently tied to. A couple have already reached the post production stage and others still have a long time to go, but here is the full list:

1) Free Guy

2) The Croods – A New Age

3) The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard

4) Red Notice

5) Untitled Netflix Time Travel Movie

6) Everyday Parenting Tips

7) Clue

8) A Christmas Carol

9) Deadpool 3

10) 6 Underground 2

11) Detective Pikachu 2

12) Hobbs & Shaw 2

13) Dragon’s Lair

Reynolds has also been busy with his business ventures, having sold a portion of his Aviation Gin for 600 million dollars earlier this year. He is also a co-owner of Mint Mobiles, the affordable wireless provider and has even started venturing into the footballing world with plans to buy a Welsh Football Club, Wrexham AFC which is currently in the fifth tier of the English football league system. So unless Reynolds is set on finishing all these films quickly in a short time period, while ignoring his business ventures and risking himself burning out in the process, we don’t see him participating in Disney’s live action feature, if the film production is not pushed up much further.

It’s a shame really since Reynolds looks a bit like Milo, the protagonist from the animated film and he would have been fantastic as the character. With his wit and charm, Reynolds could have taken the film to new ‘franchising heights’. Well we are not saying that it’s not happening, just that it is going to be difficult. Let’s hope Disney will wait for Reynold’s schedule to be a bit less hectic before offering him the role.
