With the US elections coming closer and closer and famous celebrities spreading awareness about the need to vote, Sacha Baron Cohen returns as Borat, his most (in)famous avatar, in his latest movie. The creators of the feature are releasing the film next month, hoping to spread the message of voting, to the younger audience. The movie has already been wrapped up and even screened for select audiences. Amazon has recently bought the rights to stream the film online from the producers.
Titled ‘Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan’ (Wow, That’s a mouthful!), the film follows the titular character Borat, who is under the impression that he is a successful movie star, due to the how his first movie exploded across the world (That’s meta). The Kazakh journalist responds to this new found fame by disguising himself in public and going to conduct interviews incognito.
Although Cohen hasn’t confirmed the lengthy name of the Borat sequel, with a name like ‘Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan’ for the first film, we would be very surprised if that wasn’t actually the sequel title. During the filming of the sequel, Cohen had to wear bullet proof vests on numerous occasions due to concerns over his safety. The film is said to be targeting US President Donald Trump and deceased paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The 48-year old actor was spotted in his famous grey suit and recognizable mustache filming in Los Angeles last month. A clip was shared later with Cohen (in Borat garb) in a yellow pick-up truck in Long Beach and a van filled with film crew driving in front of the aforementioned pick-up. But that wasn’t the only time Cohen had been spotted as Borat. Earlier this year, in a right-wing rally held in June in Washington, Cohen came on stage incognito and tricked the entire group of protesters into singing a racist song before he was rushed off-stage.
‘Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan’ (if that is the title), is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video Worldwide on October 23rd , 11 days before the US Presidential elections on November 3rd.
