Sakamoto Days Continue To Dominate Netflix India’s Charts

More than a couple of months have passed since the release of the hit anime Sakamoto Days on Netflix, and it’s safe to say that its popularity isn’t fading anytime soon. Even on Netflix India, the anime has become a tremendous hit, highlighting its growing prominence among Indian OTT viewers.

Based on Yuto Suzuki’s manga series of the same name, the show revolves around Taro Sakamoto, a retired legendary hitman whose peaceful family life is shattered when his past catches up with him. To protect his loved ones, he must return to his former life, balancing his deadly abilities while attempting to maintain a normal existence.

The 11-episode Season 1 premiered on Netflix on January 11. Helmed by Masaki Watanabe, the anime features a score by Yuki Hayashi and a storyline crafted by Taku Kishimoto. The series is produced by the renowned Japanese anime studio TMS Entertainment.

The anime’s growing popularity in India is evident from its viewership stats, as it remains on Netflix India’s Top 10 Shows (Weekly) list (March 17–23, 2025). Currently, the series holds the eighth spot on the list.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter Season 1, Adolescence, and Dabba Cartel Season 1 have claimed the top three positions, respectively.
