The director Sam Raimi has said in a recent interview that he wishes to direct ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. The movie is possibly slated for a 2027 release and it is yet to decide who will direct the movie.
The Marvel fan base is shifting towards the Gen-Z audiences very fast and the old millennial fans are not very satisfied with the new MCU. At this point of time, some OG Marvel guy is highly needed to revive the lost glory of Marvel. Sam Raimi had directed the three most popular Spider-Man movies and helped in bringing Marvel to the forefront as well. His ‘Multiverse Of Madness’ was not very well-received but the movie was very dark as hell for MCU and the approach to the movie was very different. A different approach is all that is needed for the MCU.
‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is an ambitious movie and you need steady hands to handle such big scales. There were rumors that Sam Raimi has been approached for the role of the director. But in a comic con, Raimi clarified that he has not been, but he would love to direct if he is approached. He said, “I love 90% of the Marvel heroes that I’ve read in the great Stan Lee Marvel Universe comic books. I would love to work with Marvel again. They haven’t reasonably asked me to. I hope they had a good experience with me. They haven’t asked me yet. I hope they do.”
It will be a great treat for Marvel fans and the old fan base might have a good chance of returning to watch their popular director direct the new age heroes.
