After a long gap there’s finally a new update on Samantha’s much awaited upcoming film ‘Yashoda’. Helmed by director duo Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan, ‘Yashoda’ was slated for release on 12th August, 2022 but got postponed due to undisclosed reasons.
Sridevi Movies, the makers of ‘Yashoda’, have today unveiled a new look of Samantha from the film where she can be seen in a French braid with marks of injury on her face. Wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and jacket she is standing amidst a female crowd.
While ‘Yashoda’ first glimpse had her looking all ethereal in white this time it’s quite the opposite. The hued theme though remains the same in both. Those silent eyes and still expressions on Samantha’s face make the look pretty intriguing. Interestingly, this new look is quite similar to her character’s appearance from Prime Video’s ‘The Family Man’.
Along with the new poster the makers have also revealed the teaser release date and time for ‘Yashoda’. The only question that remains to be asked is why this delay when the film was already set to release in August.
Give that ‘Yashoda’ is touted as a pan-India film, it could be to avoid clash with Bollywood biggies like ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. But it cannot be said so entirely given that it is a science-fiction thriller film and there could have been some technical issues.
The release date still remains to be known and it might most likely be announced with the teaser on 9th September. The delays are all worth it when the film turns out to be a masterpiece and we can only hope that’s the case with Samantha’s ‘Yashoda’.
Starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role, ‘Yashoda’ is a new age science fiction thriller film written and directed by Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan. The film also stars Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada and Priyanka Sharma among others.
‘Yashoda’ is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under his banner Sridevi Movies. M. Sukumar handles the cinematography while the film is edited by Marthand K. Venkatesh. Mani Sharma has given the music for the film.
Apart from the original Telugu version, ‘Yashoda’ will also release in theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Check out the latest poster of ‘Yoshoda’ launched on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi today
