Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the big man is coming to Netflix this year with Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. But at Binged we have pointed out several times that one of the best Bhansali films is not streaming on any OTT platform yet.
But now it will, and soon it will. We are talking about Black (2005).
“Black” is a special movie from 2005, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It’s about Michelle, played by Rani Mukerji, who can’t see or hear. She forms a strong bond with her teacher, Debraj, played by Amitabh Bachchan. He’s an old teacher struggling with alcoholism and later Alzheimer’s disease.
The movie shows how education, love, and friendship can change lives. Even though Debraj faces his own problems, he helps Michelle discover the world around her.
The actors, especially Bachchan and Mukerji, give amazing performances. They bring out the emotions and challenges of their characters in a touching way. Other actors like Ayesha Kapur, Shernaz Patel, and Dhritiman Chatterjee also add depth to the story.
“Black” teaches us about strength and hope. It’s a reminder that we can overcome tough times with support and determination.
Now, after a long wait, “Black” will be available on Netflix India starting February 4th. It is indeed big news because the film was widely awaited without any answer since a long long time.
