Sardar: Aha Bags Streaming Rights of Upcoming Karthi Starrer

It seems like the popularity of Karthi is augmenting with every passing day. His last project, Sulthan, received a strong response from the audience and the critics. Additionally, the actor is busy filming Viruaman, Sardar, and Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated directional, Ponniyin Selvan: I. But we are here to talk about Sardar. The forthcoming Tamil spy thriller is ready to hit the theatres this year. And Aha has bagged its post-theatrical streaming rights. Viewers can stream the movie after its theatrical run on the Aha platform.

One of the prominent streaming services in India, Aha, has finalised Sardar’s deal for 20 crores. There is no denying that this record price deal shows the current popularity level of Karthi. Plus, we can witness a solid public demand for his films on OTT platforms in recent times.

The makers are yet to reveal the movie’s plot to the moviegoers. But the actor’s old-age look has already become one of the hottest talks in the Kollywood film industry. Apart from the leading man, the cast has Raashi Khanna, Simran, Rajisha Vijayan, Munishkanth, Murali Sharma, and Ilavarasu. Also, we have a very surprising cast member here in the form of Chunky Pandey. The Bollywood actor will make his Kollywood debut with the upcoming Tamil project.

Karthi’s Sardar has P. S. Mithran at the helm. Also, G. V. Prakash Kumar has replaced Yuvan Shankar Raja as the film’s music composer. And Prince Pictures has handled all the production work. No official theatrical release date has been confirmed by the makers yet. The actor will play dual roles in this one for the third time in his career. He also had dual roles in Siruthai (2011) and Kaashmora (2016).
