Amazon Prime Video has released the teaser of its upcoming festive slate film ‘Sardar Udham’ and it looks pretty intriguing. Not only that Amazon Prime Video also revealed the release date for ‘Sardar Udham’, a Shoojit Sircar directorial and Vicky Kaushal starrer biographical film.
Launched on the birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, the dialogue-less teaser with an intense background music shows studying carefully and making with precision of multiple Indian Empire passports each with a different name on them like Ude Singh, Mr. Frank Brazil, Mr. Sher Singh and finally Sardar Udham. Towards the end we get a glimpse of a photographed look of Vicky Kaushal who plays the titular role.
The teaser sets an apt tone for the intriguing and engrossing tale of a patriot with many aliases but with only one mission in life – to avenge 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, India’s most gruesome tragedy. ‘Sardar Udham’ on Amazon Prime Video will tell the untold story of revolutionary freedom fighter Sardar Sardar Udham who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer in London as a revenge and that shook the entire British Empire.
Shoojit Sircar (‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Piku’) has directed ‘Sardar Udham’ with a story written by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya. Other than Vicky Kaushal, the film also stars Banita Sandhu who made her film debut with Sircar’s ‘October’ in 2018.
National award winning composer duo Ajay-Atul, known for their works in films like ‘Zero’, ‘Tanhaji, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Dhadak’, ‘Sairat’ and many more , have composed music for the film. Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar have bankrolled ‘Sardar Udham’ while the production companies behind the Amazon Original Movie are Rising Sun Films and Kino Works.
‘Sardar Udham’ will premiere on Amazon Prime Video this Dussehra on 16th October, 2021.
