Sarfira Trailer: Akshay Kumar Successfully Imparts No Intensity

The trailer of Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira is out and we have some clarifications to make. For people like us whose job is to give commentaries on film activity, it is a pre-requisite to be as less biased as possible. We are not supposed to judge any film or series on the basis of our own preferences. There must be some objectivity in our judgment because that creates a level ground for all films.

Regular readers at Binged are aware that we highly appreciated Hrithik Roshan’s portrayal of Vedha even after the giant benchmark that Vijay Sethupati left. Why?

Hrithik’s Vedha is different. He is a total maniac, a psychopath while Sethupati’s Vedha is cold, calculated and realistic.

Both the actors are extremely talented and they had different approaches towards the same character they saw on paper. Thus, both of them come out to be extraordinary in their own way.

But can we appreciate Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira?

At least according to the trailer, we neither see any difference in approach nor Akshay is anyways near reaching Suriya.

The trailer is a painful watch as we can’t help but remember how immensely phenomenal Suriya was in the original Soorarai Pottru. Akshay Kumar on the other hand lacks the slightest of intensity. For a glance, Seema Biswas was good, but Kumar is becoming so forgettable now.

The original movie was one of the highest rated films in the world thus a lot of North Indians also enjoyed it with English subtitles. They would probably never wanna watch the film.

Regardless, Sarfira stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, Seema Biswas and even Suriya in a cameo.

Akshay Kumar is having a shameful box office run these days. Let’s see what Sarfira does on the 12th of July.
