Saw XI: Saw X Director To Helm The Next Entry

Saw XI is all set to arrive in theatres worldwide in September this year, and it will have Kevin Greutert as its director. He also helmed the predecessor, Saw X, which emerged as a box office success (earning over $110 million globally). In addition, it received praise from both audiences and critics for breathing a new fire into the popular horror slasher film franchise. On Rotten Tomatoes, Saw X stands with a ‘fresh’ 80% score based on 149 reviews.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Kevin Greutert will return to helm Saw XI after successfully directing its 2023 predecessor. Apart from Tobin Bell’s sensational performance as John Kramer, Saw X was also praised for its direction, thanks to Greutert.

Many fans will accept Greutert’s return to the franchise as good news, given his work in Saw X. His direction in the last Saw entry gave the franchise a new life. The tenth Saw instalment smartly brought back Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) and John Kramer (Tobin Bell), serving as a prequel to Saw II (2005) and a sequel to the first Saw flick (2004).

However, the writing duo of Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg (Saw X) will not return for Saw XI. The eleventh entry will come out in theatres across the globe on September 27, 2024. Stream all Saw entries on Lionsgate Play. Stay tuned for more updates.
